Nikola Jokic amassed 22 points (7-of-9 FGs, 7-of-12 FTs), 13 rebounds, four assists, one block, and one 3-pointer in 27 minutes in Saturday’s 96-85 win over South Sudan.

The three-time NBA Most Valuable Player did what needed to be done on Saturday, recording another double-double to advance Serbia into the quarterfinals. South Sudan’s game plan was to make things difficult for Jokic, but the result was him doing his usual handiwork and Bogdan Bogdanovic going off for 30 points. Regarding fantasy value, the lone question for the Joker is whether he’ll remain 1.1 in drafts or cede that spot to Spurs phenom Victor Wembanyama.

The NBA’s reigning MVP bounced back in a big way after losing to the United States. He affected all aspects of the game in a well-rounded performance. He’ll look to keep it up in Serbia’s next matchup against South Sudan.

Jokic was 8-of-15 from the floor but struggled with the long ball, as he knocked down only 1-of-6 triples. The big man led his team in points, dimes and swipes, which will likely be the case for Serbia’s remaining games in the Olympics.

Russell Westbrook has agreed to a two-year, $6.8 million deal with Denver, per The Athletic’s Shams Charania.

Westbrook’s agreement is now official over a week after he was traded to Utah with the expectation that he would eventually join the Nuggets. Russ will look to help bolster Denver’s bench unit after they ranked 25th in bench points per game last season.

PJ Hall recorded a double-double on Thursday with 10 points (4-of-12 FGs), 13 rebounds, three assists and two blocks against Indiana.

The undrafted rookie out of Clemson agreed to a two-way deal with Denver on draft night, and he has had a decent summer so far. This was his best performance, though he didn’t have a great shooting night. Hall will likely spend most of his rookie season in the G-League, though the 22-year-old big should be prepared for rotation minutes if there are injuries in front of him this upcoming season.
Trey Alexander

Trey Alexander posted a full line on Thursday with 19 points (5-of-13 FGS), six rebounds, two assists, two steals and two triples against the Pacers.

Alexnder may have gone undrafted, but that shouldn’t scare dynasty managers. He quickly agreed to a two-way deal with Denver after the draft, which likely means that there was an agreement in place during the draft, and his camp told teams not to draft him. Regardless, this is the situation that he chose to be in, and the team clearly values him. If he continues to play this well, he shouldn’t have any issues establishing a spot in the team’s rotation.
Hunter Tyson

Hunter Tyson led the Nuggets with 23 points (8-of-18 FGs), three rebounds, one assist, one steal and three 3-pointers in an 86-71 win over Indiana on Thursday.

After not seeing the floor much as a rookie, Tyson hasn’t had a great summer thus far. However, he had his best performance on Thursday after shooting 5-of-18 from the floor in their last game and 2-of-11 in the game before that. As an older prospect, Tyson was drafted last summer as a player that can contribute early. However, even if he is able to establish a spot in the rotation this upcoming season, he isn’t a player that will contribute in fantasy.
Trey Alexander

Trey Alexander amassed 18 points (6-of-10 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs), four rebounds, five assists, two steals, one block, and two 3-pointers in 31 minutes in Sunday’s 84-81 loss to Toronto.

The Nuggets did not waste much time adding Alexander to their roster, signing him to a two-way deal less than an hour after the conclusion of last month’s draft. The former Creighton standout is a capable scorer and playmaker, which was on display in Sunday’s close defeat. Alexander’s chances of earning consistent rotation minutes are slim due to his contract and Denver’s cap situation. Still, he has the talent to earn opportunities throughout the season.
Julian Strawther

Julian Strawther finished Sunday’s 84-81 loss to the Raptors with 32 points (10-of-21 FGs, 6-of-10 FTs), three rebounds, five assists, one steal, one block, and six 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

The Nuggets’ summer league roster is set up for Strawther to flourish offensively, and that’s precisely what he did on Sunday. The 2023 first-round pick torched the Raptors, with a missed 3-point attempt as time expired being all that kept the Nuggets from forcing overtime. Christian Braun is viewed by many as the expected replacement for Kentavious Caldwell-Pope due to his defensive ability, but Strawther should play more minutes as well, even if he comes off the bench. He’s worth taking a flier on in the final round of standard league drafts, as Strawther’s shooting ability will be needed.
DaRon Holmes II

DaRon Holmes II is unlikely to play this season after suffering a ruptured right Achilles tendon during Friday’s loss to the Clippers.

This injury is a brutal turn of events for the Nuggets’ first-round pick, who had been playing well in his summer league debut. Holmes was projected to factor into the team’s frontcourt rotation, possibly as Nikola Jokic’s backup, with some minutes at power forward also possible. This injury frees up additional minutes for the recently signed Dario Saric, while the Nuggets will also need Zeke Nnaji to step up after a disappointing 2023-24 campaign. Holmes can be selected in dynasty leagues, especially if managers have ample IL+ slots to work with.
