  • GB Tight End #85
Kraft passed his physical and was activated from the PUP list. The Packers are expected to bring him along slowly with head coach Matt LaFleur stating that the second-year tight end would likely spend some time on the side in individual drills before eventually making his way back into full practices. Even so, Kraft was facing the possibility of missing the first four weeks of the season while on the PUP list, something that his activation seems to hint against. Look for Kraft to mix in with fellow second-year tight end Luke Musgrave in the weekly game plan this season.
  • GB Wide Receiver #87
The tallies come from Acme Packing Co. Team Community Producer, Justis Mosqueda, whose 2023 Family Night and preseason snap counts helped Mosqueda effectively project last year’s regular season starting lineup. Doubs (21 snaps) and Watson (19 snaps) debuted as the two-wide receiver-set winners with second-year WR Jayden Reed logging 16 snaps, WR Dontayvion Wicks six, Bo Melton five and Grant DuBose two. Doubs will be a fantasy-draft-day steal if the trend holds.
  • GB Running Back #28
Hirschhorn said on the Rotoworld Football Show that Dillon has impressed during training camp and is positioning himself as the clear second option behind Josh Jacobs, who is dealing with a groin injury. Hirschhorn said rookie RB MarShawn Lloyd, who has a hip injury, could see something of a “red shirt” season in 2024 before being used more in the coming years. Dillon — who has underachieved throughout his NFL career — is reportedly in the best shape of his life and seemingly has a chance to function as Green Bay’s lead back should Jacobs miss time this year.
  • GB Running Back #32
Some fantasy managers had probably already assumed this based on Lloyd’s draft status and AJ Dillon’s paltry contract, but Dillon has also been earning rave reviews for being in better shape. “Lloyd’s shiftiness and burst have been noticeable since the offseason program and his total skill-set might be enough to unseat Dillon as the primary backup to Josh Jacobs,” was Schneidman’s exact report. It’s one report on August 1, but Lloyd garnering early puff pieces is certainly better than the alternative. Packers coach Matt LaFleur seems to prefer committees, and we would have to assume a strong camp would put Lloyd ahead of plodder Dillon.
  • GB Running Back #8
Jacobs attended practice but was unable to participate in team drills. This is Jacobs’ second lower-body soft tissue injury since the Packers signed him to a four-year, $48 million contract this offseason. He missed the first week of OTAs due to a late-May hamstring strain. Jacobs has plenty of time to recover in time for Week 1 kickoff but a ramp-up period is necessary. It is an injury worth monitoring.
  • GB Running Back #32
Lloyd missed the start of training camp with a hip issue but was back for individual drills earlier this week. He took part in team drills on Wednesday for the first time this year. Head coach Matt LaFleur called him a “work in progress” before noting how valuable the reps he has missed are. The good news is that Lloyd appears to be good to go. He remains a high-upside pick in the double-digit rounds, though fantasy managers should not count on him early in the season.
  • GB Quarterback #10
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the contract’s $55 million-per-year average makes Love the highest-paid QB in NFL history and includes “a record $75M Signing Bonus plus $155M in new full guarantees.” The deal comes following Love’s breakout, inaugural season as the Packers’ starter. He finished seventh in regular season passing yards (4,158), second in passing touchdowns (32) and tied for 21st in interceptions (11), while establishing himself as a capable dual-threat, totaling 252 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns on 49 carries. He enters 2024 with one of the NFL’s deepest pass-catching corps, locked in as a fantasy football QB1.
  • GB Quarterback #10
Love continues to avoid the practice field as he and the Packers work toward a long-term contract extension. The franchise quarterback is in the building but isn’t expected to see the field until his long-term deal is confirmed. Things have reportedly been amicable between Love and the team, with GM Brian Gutekunst saying earlier in the week that he believes a deal is close to being done. The Packers undoubtedly want to get Love on the field sooner rather than later, so we’d expect a deal to get done before his “hold-in” stretches beyond the first week of camp.
  • GB Wide Receiver #11
Reed was put on the NFI list with a minor toe issue at the start of camp but his stay didn’t last long. Per head coach Matt LaFleur, Reed was limited to individual work for his first practice back. LaFleur is hoping to have Reed back in team drills by Friday. Barring any setbacks, the issue should be behind Reed now. The second-year receiver is currently being drafted as the top Green Bay wideout. He led the Packers with 64 grabs, 793 yards, and eight receiving touchdowns as a rookie. Though the Packers will undoubtedly rotate their receivers more than fantasy managers would like to see, Reed’s electric rookie season makes him a high-ceiling bet heading into year two.
  • GB Running Back #32
Packers coaches have spoken glowingly of Lloyd during spring practices and expect him to be involved in the team’s backfield rotation alongside Josh Jacobs, who signed with Green Bay this offseason. Assuming Lloyd’s hip issue is not of the long-term variety, he should function as the team’s RB2 and could be the lead back if Jacobs were to miss time in 2024. AJ Dillon will also factor into the Green Bay backfield if Jacobs misses time. Rotoworld’s Denny Carter recently wrote about the Packers backfield distribution.
