  • LV Wide Receiver #80
It was a non-contact injury for Foreman. The wideout attempted to make a catch on a low pass and got his legs tangled together according to Paul Gutierrez of ESPN. Foreman joined the Raiders from Arkansas State as an UDFA, and is battling for one of the final spots on the roster.
  • LV Quarterback #12
O’Connell and Minshew are both battling for the starting gig for the Raiders, and it’s not a surprise to see that Las Vegas will give them each equal footing — for the most part — in the first exhibition of the campaign. O’Connell finished the year as the starter, but Minshew will have every chance to get the nod to begin the year. Either way, it’s not a great fantasy situation even with the ability to throw the football to Davante Adams.
  • LV Quarterback #10
Minshew and O’Connell are battling for the starting gig, and both will get a “legit quarter” according to Patra. Which quarterback gets the start is unknown, with Raiders HC Antonio Pierce telling reports that “it doesn’t matter” as both will get a similar number of reps in the contest. This is one of the only true quarterback battles happening in August, and the decision on who will get the starting nod will likely not be known until near the end of the month.
  • LV Running Back
The comments come as Laube competes for the Raiders’ primary passing-down-back and kickoff-returner roles. The former New Hampshire running back dominated FCS defenders both in the receiving and return games. He led the position in targets (88), receptions (68), receiving yards (708) and receiving touchdowns (seven) while also ranking No. 1 overall among FCS returners (min. 25 total returns) by averaging 33.9 yards and 0.7 missed tackles forced on kickoff returns. He is quietly in play as a late-round PPR sleeper.
  • NYG Guard #70
Per ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, Jermaine Eluemunor is going to play right tackle with Van Roten at right guard. That means Evan Neal is the odd man out. The former top-10 pick is currently on the PUP list and doesn’t appear to have a role in the New York offense. Van Roten started all 17 games for the Raiders last year and is a solid addition for a team that fielded one of the league’s worst offensive lines in 2023.
  • LV Wide Receiver #10
Gallup’s retirement is somewhat abrupt after he signed a one-year deal with the Raiders in the offseason. The Raiders announced on Tuesday that he was placed on the reserve/retired list. A former third-round pick of the Cowboys, Gallup spent six seasons in Dallas, totaling 266 receptions for 3,744 yards and 21 touchdowns. He surpassed 1,000 yards in his second season, but did not reach those heights again. Gallup suffered a torn ACL in 2021 and did not find a prominent role in the Cowboys offense after that. Catching 34 passes for 418 yards and two touchdowns last season, the Cowboys released him in March, after which he signed with the Raiders. The Colorado State product will be known for his playmaking as one of the Cowboys’ top wideouts from 2019-2020.
  • FA Running Back #32
Drake made the announcement via a photo collage Instagram post, saying “he wouldn’t change a thing” about his time in the NFL. He finishes his career with 5,521 yards from scrimmage and 41 total touchdowns.
  • LV Wide Receiver #17
Adams’ agents have already refuted any talks of a trade, saying those rumors are “baseless” while adding, “There has been absolutely no trade talk — period.” Adams was one of the receivers featured on the Netflix series “Receiver,” and was heard saying on the sideline at one point that he had to “get out of here before I get killed.” While that can be interpreted in a few different ways, it’s no surprise that some would infer that Adams is looking for a trade out of Vegas. The veteran receiver joined the Raiders in 2022 to team up with former college teammate Derek Carr, only to see Carr benched at the end of the season and leave for the Saints during the 2023 offseason. Adams continues to be a high-end producer, but he’s stuck on a roster that isn’t expected to compete for a championship any time soon. It sounds like he’ll be ready to catch passes from Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew for 17 games when the time comes.
  • LV Wide Receiver #17
Adams’ agents described him being traded as “baseless” and pure speculation. Many media outlets have suggested that Adams could be on the move to the Jets, to play with Aaron Rodgers once again. For now, it seems like no more than a pipe dream for fantasy managers as well, Adams will be catching passes from Gardner Minshew or Aiden O’Connell for the foreseeable future.
  • LV Quarterback #12
According to Reed, both O’Connell and Minshew “got off to a rough start in OTAs,” struggling with accuracy and turnovers while offering little in the way of a vertical passing game. Given the profiles of both quarterbacks and what we saw last year, this isn’t all that surprising, as O’Connell and Minshew ranked 17th and 20th in ADOT last season amongst 30 quarterbacks (min. 300 dropbacks). It was reported in June by ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler that O’Connell “probably has the slight edge” over Minshew in the Raiders’ quarterback competition, but that’s to be expected with O’Connell being the incumbent to the newly-signed Minshew. Both quarterbacks are serviceable starters, but neither should be viewed as a long-term answer at the position. Barring an unexpected breakout from either signal-caller, Reed notes that “it wouldn’t be a surprise if both Minshew and O’Connell take the field at some point this year.”
