Allen is listed behind Breece Hall, but ahead of both Isaiah Davis and Israel Abanikanda on the depth chart. The Jets added Allen with the 134th pick of the draft in April, and the former Wisconsin tailback has reportedly impressed as a pass catcher in preseason work. Allen has long-term upside, but his 2024 fantasy value is tied to Hall’s health.

The QB-WR tandem started camp on a tear, Rosenblatt said, but they have since struggled with communication issues that have led to poor offensive performances against the Jets defense in practice. Last Thursday, Rodgers completed 10 of 20 passes in 11-on-11 drills and 2 of 4 in seven-on-seven sessions, according to Rosenblatt. Head coach Robert Saleh said he’s not worried about the recent struggles. “There’s plenty of time to evaluate the one on one aspect,” Saleh said. “There’s a lot of install going on. There’s still a lot of (overthinking) going on with regard to the playbook.” Wilson and Rodgers have been seen arguing on the sideline at training camp. Rodgers has dismissed the heated exchanges as something that either did not happen or was misinterpreted by people recording the arguments on their phones. In any case, Wilson is set to be the team’s clear-cut No. 1 pass catching option in 2024.
  • FA Running Back #31
At his peak, Cohen was a speedy and shifty back who wowed everyone with his ability to shake any defender out of his shoes. Known as “The Human Joystick,” Cohen totaled 2676 yards from scrimmage and 14 touchdowns in his first four years as a pro, but a myriad of devastating injuries have followed him in recent seasons. Cohen suffered a torn ACL and MCL, along with a tibia fracture during the 2020 season, and missed all of 2021 as a result. In 2022, he suffered a torn Achilles while training in hopes of a return. He caught on with the Panthers practice squad last season but didn’t play a down of regular season football. After a week in Jets minicamp, the former fourth-round pick has opted to call it quits just days after his 29th birthday.

It’s hardly a shock that Rodgers, 40, will sit out the team’s exhibition teams as he comes back from a torn Achilles. That means Tyrod Taylor and Andrew Peasley will take on quarterbacking duties in August. Rodgers has said he’s fully recovered from the Achilles injury and ready for his first full season with the Jets.
  • NYJ Linebacker #7
Anderson also adds that “there’s recent hope that Reddick’s presence and acclimation process with the team is approaching.” The Jets have seemingly made little effort to secure Reddick to a long-term extension despite trading for him and knowing his desire for a new deal while with the Eagles. Reddick is in the midst of a holdout while awaiting a new deal and stayed away from the team during OTAs and mandatory minicamp. One of the league’s premiere pass rushers, Reddick, 29, has totaled 38 sacks over the last three seasons and currently has one year remaining on his contract.

We’ll likely know the specifics of Gipson’s injury in the coming days, but the second-year UDFA was seen hobbling off the field during Thursday’s practice and is now expected to miss some time. Gipson is expected to challenge rookie Malachi Corley for snaps as the Jets’ starting slot receiver, but the time missed due to this injury could give Corley the inside edge come Week 1. Gipson caught 21 passes for 229 yards and one touchdown as a rookie and also served as the team’s primary kick and punt returner. Even if he loses the competition for starting slot receiver, he should see plenty of work on special teams this season.
  • NYJ Quarterback #3
Travis suffered a devastating ankle injury last November and has been rehabbing ever since. The Jets used a fifth-round pick on Travis, who was believed to have a chance to be ready by training camp. Unfortunately, that did not materialize, as Travis opened camp on the NFI list with no timetable given for his return. This season was always going to be a redshirt year for Travis as he looks to recover from his injury and get acclimated to the pro game. It’s unlikely he’ll see the field this season even once healthy.
  • NYJ EDGE #7
This doesn’t come as much of a surprise, as Reddick has failed to report to training camp while seeking out a new contract. Officially considered a holdout, Reddick has been hoping for a new deal dating back to his time with the Eagles. The Jets acquired him with a third-round pick earlier this offseason but have been unwilling to meet his contractual demands despite giving up a pick to acquire the veteran pass-rusher. Reddick, 29, has totaled 38 sacks over the last three years and is among the league’s top pass rushers. Contact between Reddick and the Jets has reportedly been limited, and The Athletic’s Zack Rosenblatt reported earlier this offseason that a new deal is “unlikely” to be reached before the start of the season. The Jets acquired Reddick, knowing his desire for a new contract. The fact they’ve done little to sign him to an extension despite trading for him remains one of the more puzzling decisions we’ve seen by a team this offseason.
  • NYJ EDGE #7
Entering the final year of his contract, Reddick wants an extension — something the Jets have been unwilling to offer over the past few months. New York traded a conditional 2026 third-round pick that could become a second-round pick when they acquired the soon-to-be-30-year-old Reddick this offseason from the Eagles. Reddick also held out of the team’s minicamp. Among the NFL’s best pass rushers, Reddick has 27 sacks over the past two seasons and would be a tremendous addition to an already-stout Jets defense. Reddick will be fined $50,000 for each day he misses training camp.

It’s not a surprise for a player who had yet to be cleared for football activities as of late May. Rehabbing since last September, Williams has the kind of timeline that would normally have him ready for Week 1. He claimed in March that would indeed be the case. Aaron Rodgers is famed for his close connections with certain wideouts, so any missed practice time is going to cost Williams even if he is a well-paid veteran. Currently the WR61 in summer best ball drafts, Williams is shaping up as something of a 2024 freebie.
