  • LAD Designated Hitter #17
Shohei Ohtani collected his 32nd homer and 34th stolen base Monday as the Dodgers topped the Phillies 5-3.
He also doubled. Ohtani leads the NL in average (.309), OBP (.397), slugging (.631), homers and runs scored (86) this season. He’s also tied for second in the majors in steals, though he’s definitely not catching Elly De La Cruz (57) in that category.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #31
Tyler Glasnow pitched six innings of three-run ball Monday in a win over the Phillies.
Glasnow struck out nine and walked none. He really should have given up just one run, but center fielder Andy Pages got turned around a couple of times going for a flyball in the second, gifting Nick Castellanos a triple. Glasnow moved to 9-6 with a 3.54 ERA.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #41
Daniel Hudson protected a two-run lead in the ninth for his eighth save Monday against the Phillies.
The Dodgers had Evan Phillips warming up in the eighth, but when it came time for the ninth, Hudson was used for the third time in four days. He allowed a leadoff single, but he then retired the last three hitters in the Phillies lineup, as the team declined to pinch-hit for Austin Hays or Garrett Stubbs. Hudson will almost certainly get Tuesday off now, perhaps leading to a save chance for Phillips or Joe Kelly.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #49
Dodgers placed RHP Blake Treinen on the 15-day injured list with left hip discomfort.
Treinen figured to get some sort of rest period here before hopefully serving as a key reliever for the Dodgers in the postseason. The 36-year-old, who missed 2023 following shoulder surgery, has a 2.67 ERA and a 38/9 K/BB in 30 1/3 innings this season after returning from a bruised lung suffered in spring training.
  • LAD Relief Pitcher #48
Dodgers activated RHP Brusdar Graterol from the 60-day injured list.
Graterol will be making his season debut after missing the last four months with shoulder inflammation. He had a 5.87 ERA and, oddly, three balks over 7 2/3 innings during his rehab assignment.
  • LAD First Baseman #5
Dodgers activated 1B Freddie Freeman from the emergency family leave list.
With his son out of the hospital and expected to make a full recovery from Guillain-Barré syndrome, Freeman has rejoined the Dodgers after nine days away from the team. He’s starting at first base and batting third tonight against the Phillies.
  • LAD Second Baseman #6
Dodgers designated INF/OF Cavan Biggio for assignment.
Biggio hit .192/.306/.329 in 88 PA for the Dodgers after coming in at .200/.323/.291 in 131 PA for the Blue Jays. He’ll most likely clear waivers, especially since he’s still owed about $1.2 million for the rest of the season. At this point, he really seems like a guy who is going to have to settle for a minor league contract this winter.
  • LAD Shortstop #11
Miguel Rojas said he’s ready to return from the IL after missing time with forearm tightness.
It doesn’t look like the move is coming tonight, but it won’t be long. Nick Ahmed has been the Dodgers’ starting shortstop with Rojas out, but he’ll probably get bumped from the roster to make room for him.
  • LAD Second Baseman #8
Enrique Hernández doubled twice and drove in two runs Sunday as the Dodgers edged the A’s 3-2.
Hernández also had three hits and two RBI yesterday. The two nice days have lifted his season OPS to .612, which is his highest mark after any game this season. The only other time he was over .600 was May 20. He then went 1-for-17 over the subsequent week.
  • LAD Starting Pitcher #77
River Ryan yielded two runs in 4 2/3 innings Sunday against the A’s.
Ryan was pulled one out shy of qualifying for the win, but there was good reason for that after he loaded the bases in a one-run game in the fifth. Fortunately, Evan Phillips was able to strike out Brent Rooker to escape the jam. Ryan has a 1.72 ERA after three starts, and he’ll again be worth using in mixed leagues next weekend against the Pirates.
