Victor Wembanyama amassed 14 points (5-of-11 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs), 12 rebounds, one assist, two steals, one blocked shot, and three 3-pointers in 28 minutes in Friday’s 85-71 loss to Germany.

France supporters who hoped Tuesday’s overtime win over Japan would serve as a wake-up call for the hosts were bitterly disappointed on Friday. Wembanyama and company went cold in the second quarter, as Germany outscored France by a 24-9 margin and did not look back. Wemby recorded a double-double and a full stat line, but he did not impact the action significantly. France coach Vincent Collet decided to bench Rudy Gobert for the start of the third quarter, so a lineup change could be in the cards for the team’s upcoming quarterfinal against an opponent that won’t be known until the end of games on Saturday.

Victor Wembanyama played 31 minutes in Tuesday’s 94-90 win over Japan, amassing 18 points (6-of-13 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), 11 rebounds, six assists, two steals, two blocks, and three 3-pointers.

Wembanyama was at his best when the hosts needed him most, scoring France’s first eight points of overtime. A Matthew Strazel four-point play was required to force the extra period, and the 7-foot-4 phenom took over from there. The hosts’ roster has no shortage of proven NBA talent, but it’s clear who the star talent is. Wembanyama will be the key if France is to improve on its showing at the Tokyo Olympics, where it lost to the United States in the gold medal game.

The Spurs have signed Harrison Ingram to a two-way contract.

The 48th overall pick in June’s NBA Draft, Ingram performed well for the Spurs in summer league action. As a result, the former Stanford/North Carolina wing has been rewarded with a two-way contract. While there could be some long-term value in stashing Ingram in dynasty leagues, redraft league managers can afford to leave him on the board.

Victor Wembanyama led France with 19 points (7-of-13 FGs), nine rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one triple in a 78-66 win over Brazil on Saturday.

Wembanyama didn’t dominate, but he did join Nicolas Batum (19 points) as the leading scorers for France in this game. Wembanyama will continue to be one of the focal points for France throughout the Olympics, and the duo down low of Wemby and Rudy Gobert will be tough for their opponents to deal with. They have a few days off before they play Japan on Tuesday, and Wemby shouldn’t have any issues dominating that matchup.

David Duke Jr. has agreed to a two-way contract with the Spurs, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

Duke Jr. signed a two-way deal with the Spurs in December, and now he has agreed to another one for next season. He only suited up for San Antonio four times last season, and he will likely spend most of the year in the G-League this upcoming season.

Mamukelashvili averaged just 9.8 minutes across 46 appearances in his first season with San Antonio in 2023-24. He’s far off the fantasy radar as a depth option in the Spurs’ talented frontcourt.

Castle injured his wrist during Saturday’s win over Portland, which was also one of his best summer performances. Between the California Classic and Saturday, the Spurs likely saw all they needed from their lottery pick. The injury is not considered to be serious, so Castle should be a full go when training camp begins in September.

Stephon Castle finished Saturday’s 83-77 win over the Blazers with 22 points (8-of-21 FGs, 4-of-5 FTs), five rebounds, four assists, one steal, and two 3-pointers in 29 minutes.

Playing against college teammate Donovan Clingan, Castle left the Thomas & Mack Center with bragging rights on Saturday night. He didn’t have his best night shooting the basketball, and the rookie guard was also responsible for five turnovers, but that isn’t something for fantasy managers to be worried about. Castle played well in Salt Lake City, and the overall performance on Friday was encouraging. During an in-game interview, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich spoke highly of Castle, saying he will be a “quick study.” Castle should be one of the first rookies off the board in drafts this fall.

Stephon Castle struggled with his shot but still finished with 18 points (8-of-21 FGs), six rebounds, five assists and three steals in an 89-67 win over China on Tuesday.

Shooting was considered a weakness for Castle entering the draft, but he showcased some shooting ability during their first Summer League game by knocking down two triples. However, he missed all six of his attempts from beyond the arc on Tuesday. Castle did other things well on both ends of the ball and showcased some playmaking skills, which is encouraging to see. However, until he proves otherwise, the perimeter shooting will continue to be a question mark. He averaged less than a steal per game in college despite being a really good defender. If he can continue to swipe the ball away like he did in this game, he could be an intriguing fantasy option.

Harrison Ingram recorded a double-double on Tuesday with 16 points (6-of-10 FGs), 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and three triples against China.

Ingram helped the Spurs get their first win of the summer on Tuesday by recording a double-double. The Spurs selected Ingram with the 48th pick in the draft last month, and this game was representative of the well-rounded impact that he can make when given the opportunity. Ingram could certainly carve out a role on this young Spurs team as a rookie, but it is unlikely that he receives the minutes needed to put up this type of stat line consistently. Consider him a player to stash in dynasty formats, but don’t expect much of an impact this season.
