  • NYM Second Baseman #1
McNeil’s sixth-inning blast off Cardinals reliever Shawn Armstrong gave New York a commanding six-run margin at the time. He’s caught fire since last month’s All-Star break, batting .364 (20-for-55) with a staggering five homers in 17 contests during that span.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #59
Manaea authored a brilliant performance on Monday night at Busch Stadium, scattering six hits over seven scoreless frames, while also notching his third double-digit strikeout performance of the year. The 32-year-old southpaw has been magnificent this season in his Mets debut, compiling a sparkling 3.30 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 122/46 K/BB ratio across 120 innings (22 starts). He’ll aim to keep the momentum going on Saturday when he faces the Mariners in a road matchup.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #62
Quintana has almost always given the Mets a chance in recent months, but the offense totaled just two runs in this one. Things could have been worse for Quintana, who made his own trouble with the walks. He gave up flyballs to Jo Adell and Charles LeBlanc that would have been homers in 16 and 13 ballparks, respectively, but they went for a double and an out today.
  • NYM Designated Hitter #28
With the Mets trailing 2-0, Martinez took Hunter Strickland deep with the bases loaded to give New York a 4-2 lead. That lead would go away a half an inning later, but fantasy managers probably don’t care too much. The 36-year-old has homered 12 times with 54 RBI to go with an .803 OPS. Martinez can still hit.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher #23
Peterson gave up five hits and issued a single walk against four strikeouts. The 28-year-old gave up runs in the first and fifth inning, and otherwise was very solid; albeit with no run support while he was in the contest. He threw 56-of-82 pitches for strikes, and he lowered his ERA to 3.47 in the process. Keep in mind his next scheduled start comes in Colorado next week.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher
This well-deserved promotion comes just a day after the 23-year-old hurler racked up 13 strikeouts over five shutout innings at Double-A Binghampton. He has been extremely impressive this season, registering a 2.05 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and a 110/31 K/BB ratio over 87 2/3 innings between High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghampton. At this rate, it’s not out of the question that we could see him make a start or two with the Mets before the 2024 season concludes.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #30
Diekman predictably passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier this week and will head to free agency in search of a new opportunity. The 37-year-old southpaw notched four saves this season for the Mets to go along with a lackluster 5.63 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and a 40/24 K/BB ratio across 32 innings (43 appearances).
  • NYM Shortstop #10
Mauricio tore his ACL last offseason while playing in the Dominican Winter League and went back under the knife this week to remove some scar tissue in his surgically-repaired knee, which ostensibly eliminates any shot of him returning this season. Barring any additional setbacks, he should be fully healthy in time for spring training.
  • NYM Starting Pitcher
Fresh off a highly-impressive outing a couple weeks ago at the MLB Futures Game, Sproat authored one of the more dominant pitching performances of the season on Friday evening, piling up an eye-popping 21 swinging strikes, and striking out the final 11 batters he faced en route to his second double-digit strikeout effort of the year. The 23-year-old right-hander has been arguably the fastest-rising pitching prospect this season for fantasy purposes as he’s recorded a sublime 2.05 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 110/31 K/BB ratio across 87 2/3 innings (17 appearances, 16 starts) between High-A Brooklyn and Double-A Binghamtom. It might be unrealistic to expect him to reach New York before the current season wraps up, but he’s going to enter the 2025 campaign as one of the top pitching prospects in the game.
  • NYM Left Fielder #9
Nimmo stole one of the three bags the Mets swiped off the Angels on Friday, and it was his 11th of the season. All three hits were singles for the outfielder, and it helped raise his average to .237. Nimmo was removed from Wednesday’s game with a left foot injury, but it sure didn’t appear to be bothering him Friday night.
